PPSL Champs Info
Hey Swordfish! It's coach Isaiah back with lots of useful information for the PPSL Champs tomorrow and Wednesday. There are documents attached with all kinds of info to look through regarding the meet, timeline, and seeding. You can also check the Team Calendar for time information and links.
As I'm sure everyone knows, this year's champs will be held at Mason High School Natatorium, the entrance to which will be through the Mason High School Theater and Natatorium doors.
For tomorrow, 12 and under warm ups will start at 12:20 and 13+ warm ups start at 5:20. For Wednesday, we will be doing a caravan meeting at 2:15 at WSC. For those not participating, warm ups for all age groups start at 3:25. Wednesday Finals ONLY – 11 & OLDER swimmers: there will be a 15 minute fourth session of warm-up. During that time lanes 1 & 8 will be open for continuous swimming and lanes 2-7 will be open for starts.
Some important information about finals on Wednesday:
o 8&Under Medley Relay is Timed Final event which will be swum Tuesday only.
o Top 16 and 2 alternatives return to FINALS for all individual events.
o Top 8 relays return to FINALS for all RELAY events (except for 8&Under Medley Relay)

• Concessions will be provided and are available to everyone. Hospitality for coaches and officials will be available in the Hospitality Room.
• NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING.
• The team areas outside the natatorium will open to the public 60 minutes prior to the start of the warm-up session.
• No towels, bags or personal belongings may be left in the facility between prelims and finals.
• Limited seating is available in the bleachers and will be assigned by section to each team. Teams are expected to share the assigned space to them. This will be monitored by Marshalls and your cooperation is appreciated.
• No coolers or glass containers are permitted in the natatorium. Swimmers’ bags are not permitted in the spectator seating.
• For your safety and the safety of others exit aisles and exits must remain clear at all times.
• Limited handicap seating is available. Please note that there will not be space for family to accompany guests in the handicap area.
• NO outside camp space is available.
• Team space: there will be assigned sections for swimmers and their fans in the HS Common area adjacent to the Natatorium. o Teams are expected to keep their area clean during and after the meet. o Chairs/coolers/bags ARE allowed in this area
• NATATORIUM SEATING o Teams are assigned bleacher seating by section. It is expected that teams SHARE their space with their team fans and family. Please do NOT assume that empty seats in another team’s area are available for your use. o LIMITED handicap spaces are available. o There is NOT space for chairs in the Natatorium. Limited standing space is available at the top of the bleachers. o Each team is expected to communicate this information to their team including all guests!
CONDUCT RULES:
• The use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.
• Use of cameras, cell phones or any other recording device is not permitted immediately behind the starting blocks at either end of the racing course(s) during race starts, competition and warm-ups. Please refer to the Safe Sport section of the Ohio Swimming, Inc. policies and procedures for further information regarding the use of visual recording devices.
• Deck changes are prohibited.
• Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present.
• Flash photography is not permitted at the start of any race.
CLERK OF COURSE/ SWIMMER CONDUCT:
• There will be a clerk of course for the preliminary session for swimmers 8 & under. Swimmers 9 & over should report directly to the starting blocks for their events.
• All swimmers are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. It is the responsibility of all parents to ensure all minor participants/spectators are well behaved and under supervision at all times. Any swimmer acting in an inappropriate manner will be reported to their coach. If the swimmer is reported a second time, they will be banned from participating for the remainder of the meet.
• There is NO team parading permitted on the pool deck or parking lot.
With the above clerk of course being acknowledged, we are still in need of a volunteer for clerk manager, so if anybody has expertise in corralling 8 and unders, it would be much appreciated!
